We serve the communities where we live: We offer services in the New Jersey communities of: Berkeley Heights, Fanwood, Gillette, Long Hill, Mountainside, New Providence, Scotch Plains, Summit, Warren, Watchung, and Westfield.
- Spring 3/1 – 6/15 20 hrs per week
- Summer 6/15 – 9/1 10 hrs per week
- Fall 9/1 – 12/1 20 hrs per week
- Winter 12/1 – 3/1 10 hrs per week
- Customer Service (approx 10 hrs)
- Customer correspondence (mostly email).
- Verify and answer questions related to services, adding internal notes to services for the field crew to act on, handling visit requests or complaints.
- Monitor and reconcile services per customer
- Client Leads (approx 6 hrs)
- Quote potential leads for our recurring services
- Phone conversations and emails explaining services
- Conversion from lead to customer
- Bookkeeping in support of accounting responsibilities (approx 4 hrs)
- Support and backup to our in-house bookkeeper / accountant
- Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Payroll and other accounting duties
- Customer service and communication skills
- Friendly with a willingness to learn

Scape-Abilities Landscaping, located in Scotch Plains, N.J., is seeking a self-motivated individual to lead the Plant & Bed maintenance crew, a recurring residential landscape service, running from the beginning of March through the end of November.
This is a full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week, 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Effectively leading an independent landscape crew to meet the scheduling needs of routed property care.
- Managing company tools and equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English. Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks with or without accommodation; such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Use of gardening tools and equipment in an effective and safe manner.
- Pruning and shaping ornamental trees & shrubs.
- Working knowledge of plant species and identification.

Scape-Abilities Landscaping, located in Scotch Plains, N.J., is seeking a self-motivated individual to lead the Irrigation & Lighting crew.
Responsibilities
- Install residential irrigation & lighting
- Troubleshoot and repair residential systems
Requirements
- 2 or more years experience as an irrigation and lighting techician
- Ability to communicate clearly with our clients; proficient in English
- Ability to communicate professionally with office staff and irrigation technicians

Meet Our Owner
Stephen Costalos.
Owner
Scape-Abilities is owned and managed by Stephen Costalos. He has over 25 years (working in Landscape Design) and is certified with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) & the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP). He graduated Susquehanna University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He developed a passion for landscape design while attending college and working during the summer for a landscape construction company. After college, Stephen lived in San Diego and continued studying landscape design at night while working for a large landscape company by day. He returned to Westfield, where he was raised, and started Scape-Abilities to address a need for high quality landscape services in NJ. He is supported by a highly qualified team consisting of a Landscape Architect, Designers, Project Managers and Horticulturalist as well as having one of the best and most professional crews in this area.
